LLMs are bounded by their training distribution, yes, but that distribution now spans the whole web, millions of ebooks, TV scripts, workshop critiques, and fan-fic masterpieces. Within that ocean they’re already synthesizing work that beats plenty of human efforts in blind evaluations and real-world popularity. “Workmanlike ceiling” is a yesterday hot take, today’s models are already punching holes in it.
