nah if you had sam's skills someone will use your work without your consent as well. you may be fine with someone using your work but you're only speaking for yourself because you don't draw to feed your family like some of the artist do.
and yes artists do own their style, that's why when you input to a prompt to an AI to generate and image with the style of a a specific artist, it does that because even the AI recognizes style. that's like saying you don't own your name because there are millions of people with the same name as you.
before AI, the talentless guy has all the option in the world but the talentless guy is also lazy and haven't done or try anything with his ability that's why the talentless guy will always remain talentless despite having cheaper options.
