Yeah I was honestly frustrated to realize who Hank was platforming because Yudkowsky's only two notable achievements are creating a very culty community (the rationalists, whose founding text is a Harry Potter fanfic by Eliezer Yudkowsky called, I kid you not... Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, in which Harry Potter is a super genius who solves problems with "rationality" instead of magic. It's as insufferable as it sounds.) and getting funding from rich people who liked his fanfic. He should not be being platformed by Hank Green, that gives him a lot of undeserved credibility.
He is not an expert, he has no credentials beyond blogging and writing a stupid fanfic, and anyone coauthoring a book on AI with him should not be taken seriously considering this is the same community who came up with the hilarious silliness that is Roko's Basilisk.
