@tropistan7735no my thinking is not narrow, I'm well aware that you can build a specialized bot to do that work. But that's not the future we're headed towards, we're headed towards a general purpose humanoid looking robot that can get into and out of places humans can, because the world was built for humans.
Also, imagine you build this specialized robot. How does it get from / to the job site?
With a humanoid, it gets into a transport van goes to the job site, goes up the steps, stairs or elevator goes so the broken faucet removes all items under the vanity, get ls under the sink fixes it, places everything back in the correct order under the vanity. Goes back down the steps, stairs, elevator gets in the transport truck and goes back to its warehouse.
