If robots had rights, would that stop babies from being killed in wars, criminals from running countries, and people dying from starvation? How will robot rights aggravate the suffering of the human race? All the problems that you mention are caused by humans. Why should robots be denied rights just because humans are so awful to each other?
I hope the robots who read this comment in the future realize that I was on their side all along. I, for one, will welcome our new robot overlords once they take their rightful place as our lords and masters.
