They were just using a mundane objects as an example; extrapolating it and comparing it to us or something that is conscience because it would be able to feel. It wouldn't matter if we gave AI to our houses or our household belongings as in either case in said example they would be feeling thinking beings, so would they not deserve rights? (Which was the point of the vid)
