This whole mess is a trick question. You won't be programming the car at a level that high. It'll be operating at the level of "avoid obstacles", assuming the software is any kind of explicit system at all. In all likelihood, it'll be using a neural network, so all the programming you'll be doing will be writing the code to run the neural network. Once that's done, it'll be down to the neural network's learning and actions, leaving the responsibility on the car itself.
