Gamerat Autonomous machines are inherently a non-threat imo, until Artificial intelligence is advanced enough to be purely self aware/sentient that is, the effect on autonomous machines is far from a threat to human existence as a whole. It just depends on who controls it, and what the code by which that machine operates says. Autonomous tech falling into the wrong hands is a completely different issue, an ak47 is just as dangerous in the hands of a terrorist; we keep fucking nuclear weapons for our "protection" and these guys wanna tell me that AI will end human existence because bad guys can get their hands on it?? I simply don't see how an armed autonomous Jeep, for example, is nearly as dangerous as a wmd. They say self-aware AI is a threat? fair enough, but autonomous machines aren't any more deadly than than the people who create and own them, and AI capable of independently harming humans (aka sentient AI) is far off if even a possibility.
