Well, Double, I'd say his comment is a bit more mature than yours, seeing as you're relying entirely on ad hominem to senselessly derail the argument. "The irony is" that you don't know what irony is.
Alex, it's unlikely that it would be efficient to do that. It's easier to implement a simple drive to make AI avoid certain behaviours. It's easy enough to make them attempt to avoid collision or avoid darkness. Complex emotions would be hard to program and minimally effective compared to making the actions conditional.
