My issue is that if AI is replacing people, and that AI is cheaper to maintain than a workers salary, not only are they getting higher profit while workers suffer, they aren't paying any labor taxes for AI. If say, AI labor was taxed at 90-100%, companies would ditch AI for humans again, or AI companies would actually start to benefit the people via UBI, medicaid, etc.
Because currently the "owner" of AI can reap all the benefits of the AI's work without paying any of the income tax or insurance costs they would for human, the same ridiculously exploitative margin as chattel slavery.
