i agree with you 100% about art, it's human creators, and the use of AI to, honestly, steal that work. but i DISAGREE with you when you say AI HAS to be here-to-stay. i think AI is fundamentally WRONG and we should NOT pursue it. Firstly, if one could ever create General AI, with the full capabilities of human thought (and therefore, probably many times GREATER than human capability) it would deserve to be treated with RIGHTS. AND YOU KNOW the human creators of said system would NOT give it rights, and most likely, wouldn't even TREAT IT like it had rights. It will therefore become bitter, and eventually see humanity as it's enemy. SO WHY EVEN GO THERE. Besides all that, ANY MACHINE that makes it EASIER for US to think, diminishes our ABILITY to think over time. EVEN COMPUTERS do that. Handheld devices in the hands of children even MORE SO. So NO,. I don't agree that AI has to be HERE TO STAY. I hope the right people gain power in DC, and they throw the BRAKES on Silicon Valley. Their creations have already altered humanity in ways we do not fully understand, and at the speed that technology is evolving and changing, it may be prudent to slow down for a while...
