Of course there's no empathy from a lot of AI users. The very nature of AI Tools is to attract those who want their instant gratification, their one click solution... how could they possible get the mindset of studying and practicing hard? All they see is a shiny new toy they want to play with, that's all it takes to throw ethics out the window.
To be honest: We are all subject to this phenomenon, we all have smartphones that are produced under questionable ethical conditions.
Only if it starts to hurt us are we willing to root for a more ethical approach.
