Well, he says he is a materialist through and through. Of course he thinks that AI can be or is already conscious. Then he says nobody knows what consciousness is but then claims AI is conscious. Remember, when a scientist says "I think ..." or "in my opinion..." it doesn't necessarily mean, it is scientific consensus. Just saying. In this particular case science is wildly all over the place. Why? Because we have no clue. And another point I wanna make: Even if AI will be more "creative" than humans are, what ever that means. I rather contemplate on human imperfect made art that on that of an AI because I can relate to that more than to a machine. And my guess is, that will be so for the most part of humanity. For the security part — I totally agree on that one!
