The samples you gave shows how one replicated the other. It just cropped the original and made slight changes in colors. If two human artists were involved, this would result into a lawsuit. But AI seem to make it legal. When we artists take inspiration from another, we may emulate the process, the idea, but we still adopt our own composition, color schemes, and styles. Imagine the original artist thinking for a long time to put things together to come up with a design solution and another person just give a prompt to steal another artist's work. Also, we ask for consent. Anyone who does not ask consent or copying or tracing exactly are frowned upon and get the wrath of the community. Being inspired from is not the same as copying. Fair use of another's work entails that it doesn't result to a financial loss to the author and that it should create a new idea apart from the original work. As artists are losing jobs while our original art work are being used for AI's morgue files without our consent, that's even out of the question. Digital artists are being suspected using AI and are being affected by this trend. While people who use AI disguise themselves as digital artists which is not only unfair but also dishonest. Besides, if two people, out of sheer coincidence gave the same prompt and AI gave the same image, imagine how that would look like seeing the work of an original artist reflected in two others. In the art world, what the AI does is a derivative, not an original. And to be honest, could not be qualified as art. Everyone has visions. But in art, vision and craftsmanship go hand in hand. The product and the process are as equally important. I don't think they can get rid of AI created images. Unfortunately it's here to stay and I can understand what it does to business and entrepreneurs. But it could never be art.
