I’m someone who, even though I love drawing, is not very good at it. When I first learned about AI I thought it was the cheat code, in seconds I could turn the ideas in my head to real “drawings”. But just minutes after I started using it I already knew it was wrong. Not ethically wrong, that took me a little longer to figure out, but the art itself just did seem right. I could regenerate the image as much as I wanted and it was always wrong. The art had no soul, I know that point has been made a hundred times before but it’s just as true now as every time it’s been made before. I thought that AI was giving me a chance to be creative but in reality it was doing the opposite, in ten minutes preteen me found out what people who have been using AI for years still can’t get. No matter how hard you try, it will always only look like an image of an drawing.
