I am a full-time professional artist, and I don't have any issues with AI myself whatsoever. I don't see it as a replacement, but rather as a tool that makes art creation simply easier. It makes me a better artist. If you are an artist who disagrees, give this idea a thought. When you take a picture of a sculpture created by someone else, do you own that picture? Partially, but without original sculpture, it would be no picture in the first place. What if you paint a picture of a house? Well... did you build that house? Did you design the architecture? Probably no...so does it truly belong to you, then? What if you had drawn a picture of a castle from your own imagination? Well... what is your imagination based on? Isn't it based on your memory of what castles look like? Castles you didn't make yourself. AI does just that. It generates original artworks based on existing content. Give this idea a thought as well. Instead of simply typing words and hopping for the good results, create a sketch or take a photograph and use that as a reference when creating Ai art and therefore you would be making variations of your own art and won't use the art of others. This way, AI becomes a glorified filter system. A database of stock images that, along with your own original idea and artwork, is now being used by you to create new and original art. That's my thoughts on it.
