As a social democrat, I'd like to propose a compromise proposal:
Heavily automated industries get nationalised as they are easier to run without becoming inefficient as they would under a modern nationalised system and the funds from these are used to boost UBI. UBI rises as available employment declines and nationalised industries are used to pay for the UBI
