As someone who got hit by the Amazon layoffs, I can tell you they had no idea what to do with AI, but they were massively pushing it regardless "just make sure you use it" was all the guidance we got, and meanwhile I was dealing with Indian offshore workers who could barely speak english, just wasting resources on trying to be more "profitable" in the dumbest ways.
