No!
At the end of the day If/when we create an AI that is self aware the greatest danger will not be that new digital life form but rather our reaction to it. Mankind will likely panic and try to enslave the AI which will PROVE that we are a danger to it and and cause it to retaliate. Technology is only as dangerous as WE make it to be. A self aware artificial intelligence can be a revolutionary tool or a dangerous threat just as much as a car or plane can be.
