AI bros also don't realise that stuff like the banana taped to a wall has a meaning behind it. It's not skillfully impressive or visually striking — but the visual representation of psychology and the attempt to visually spread messages is a big part of modern art. It's often a "high intellect, low skill" area of art. And the proof the banana succeeded in what it tried to do is that people are still talking about it years later. So, there we go.
On the other hand, a machine has no feelings of its own. It has no creativity, no opinions, no psychology. It can understand these things in theory, and even pretend to have them, but behind it all is just an algorithm.
