IMO consciousness is fundamental and not something AI could ever obtain. It will appear conscious and we won't be able to tell the difference, but it will never truly be. Mark seems to think it's like an algorithm that it can be trained on and biological traits that are product of millions of years of evolution will just come along with machine intelligence. There's 0 chance a super intelligence would need or have any of this.
