Bernie Sanders is right about the need for culture-wide discussion of the changes AI is bringing about. He needs to think deeply about the ability of the society he proposes to compete with the fastest advances possible in nations like China and Saudi Arabia, where authoritarians and massive capital can adopt changes in an hour. I don't believe it can win that race. I would love it if events prove me wrong.
