don’t mean this as critique, more as observation. As a European listening to these kinds of discussions, I often sense something deeper than concern about AI, a cultural pattern where the future is imagined as the place we lose control.
It makes me wonder whether parts of American society itself create a sense of uncertainty that shapes this outlook, a feeling that progress might turn unpredictable or even hostile. In Europe, and also much of Asia, the tone around technology often feels different, more about adapting, integrating, and managing change rather than fearing it.
Do Americans reflect on that difference themselves, do you see it the same way? I find it fascinating how the same technologies can mirror such different kinds of hope depending on the society that imagines them.
