I personally like the idea behind AI art generation as it allows people with less talent to have a resource for putting something together for say, an indie game when they don't have an artist or a budget for one. AI text generators are beneficial for certain tasks like proofreading, either suggesting a different phrasing that might be more grammatically correct or, at the very least, spellchecking. At the same time, AI generator companies need to be held responsible for the machines they have turned loose. There should be protections put in place to prevent the theft of artists' works or the generation of propaganda. The lack of foresight lately in the release of technology before it is fully understood is getting ridiculous. We have hundreds of movies abot AI killing humans but they've never seem to have though about the other potential consequences of turning technology out into the wild with zero protections or responsibilities for how it might be used.
