I have concerned with the people developing Ai or the individuals who use AI who intend to develop it to re-write history until real history is no longer recognizable. With where we are at this point with its interface and imagine processing capabilities. In a short few years, we can easily have people discussing things that never happened or that did happen but happens in other ways. People can be just as useful as they can be detrimental and manipulative. As an archaeologist who’s entire job is to document the real remains of historical events most commonly known or unknown in the name of preservation and mitigation, this can easily be erased for the interest of those who want to say, rewrite the image of slavery or the trail of tears. People are already trying to erase this history today with rudimentary levels of manipulation even in my own field, so this is a real concern. This does truly happen on the human level.
