There are three very different angle to this. There's the financial side. There's the technology side and then there is the art side. There is nothing wrong for a business trying to make their production more efficient. And they certainly don't have an obligation to value your effort for the sake of your effort. A struggling artist is not a new term. The best way to deal with this is not to be financially depended on your art. The laws around AI art will eventually get more accurate but the fact is the power is not in the hands of the artists but it is, it always has been and it always will be the money that decides. If you think you can stop 500M$ market... good luck. This is not NFT. This is not a get money quick pyramid scam. This is the way how people are going to generate images for now on. This technology makes image generation easy and accessible to everyone and this is the worst how it will perform. It's highly likely that Nightshade like software won't work in the future since AI could reverse-engineer them. The best way to deal with improving technology is to adapt, use it to your advantage. It is just insane how much this can boost our imagination. In the end AI generated art isn't really art. It probably won't be valued as an art because the art piece itself doesn't matter for people due to it's ease of use. But the content of the piece will be valued. Perhaps there will be more traditional manmade abstract art that people see as something they would want to put on a wall. The way art is seen and made will change forever. It is not the end off art but it is a new era of art. The moral question then is will the benefits of AI art outweight the cost. I can imagine in 100 years everyone can tell their stories through visual media such as comics and movies with just entering the script in. What a day to be alive. ... oh but then I'm probably dead already.
