We live in a consumer society. People work, but most of their salary goes to bills, rent, or mortgage, and the rest they spend.
If tomorrow everyone lost their jobs, no one would have money to spend. Then big companies — from Coca-Cola to skincare, sweets, furniture, hotels, and holidays — would stop making profit.
Do you really think all of this would collapse overnight? If people don’t spend, thousands of companies will suffer too.
History shows that governments and corporations won’t let this happen suddenly. They will create new systems — like AI-driven work, universal basic income, or digital money — to keep money flowing.
Consumerism cannot survive without consumers. The question is not if change will happen, but how society will be redesigned when jobs disappear 😉
