As someone who loves engineering and art in many forms I think AI is amazing and is inevitably going to be used. On the other hand I don't think there is a justification to using AI to generate art/content that will benefit us. If we don't stop it soon it will be too late before everything online is AI generated trash. But also AI doesn't have the capacity to innovate new art it can only approximate what it has seen other artists do. In the long term this could kill the art industry resulting in the decline of the skill and then it will have nothing to source.
AI should be used for monumental scales of data analysis and computations like genome sequencing or image recognition, not to automate our entertainment and creative expression for another monthly subscription.
