Tim is assuming far too much intelligence on the part of AI. AI is, in fact, not intelligence. Our current iteration of "AI" is merely a predictive language model. What that means, ultimately, is that AI is merely simulating intelligence. It's more like Mass effects Virtual Intelligence concept than what we traditionally understand as AI. It is not self-aware and, furthermore, it can never become self-aware with such technology. Everything it says is merely derivative of information gleaned from the sources available to it. In this case, that's largely the web. It's a copycat, an advanced speak and spell, simon says, and we're simon. It has no thought, of it's own. It can only expouse an aggregate of the data it's taken from the web. AI art will show you this visually and clearly. Lokk at any of the "hot girl" anime pictures made by AI. You'll notice something. It's always the same face. It copied a popular face archetype from the web and now it can't do anything other than recreate that same face every time. "AI" is not intelligent. It's just a magic 8 ball with a lot of answers.
