AI art is useful to augment other stuff, like in a roleplaying game, you describe the character with words and slap down an AI picture to be "like this."
One game used rotoscoped AI-generated portraits of fake people to give a realistic-but-bizarre atmosphere.
Personally, I sometimes use AI art as a reference for practicing drawing, because as my one art teacher said, the reference is just a useful tool, the artist is still responsible for the results.
Yeah, looking at AI art on its own is usually meaningless. That doesn't mean it's useless though. It's definitely fun to share, like, AI-generated portraits of RP characters.
And I mean, having tried to commission artists for RP character pictures, having some AI-drawn pics can definitely help convey things...
