If the rate of job losses is as significant as some suggest due to the increasing use of AI, there will need to be some form of financial support. I am uneasy with the idea of providing money with no strings attached. In my opinion, it should take the form of a Universal Basic Contract (UBC). Every society benefits from various types of support, whether it's helping lonely, housebound individuals or regenerating infrastructure, and everything in between. Under the UBC, all recipients would agree to participate in community schemes under agreed terms. They would receive a basic UBC amount plus additional income based on their level and type of community involvement.
