As a 2D and 3D digital artist, I’m waiting for regulation as soon as possible. Even so, I refuse to lose job opportunities just because I don’t know how to use AI to my advantage. I will never abandon crafting, which is where, for me, the entire purpose of creation truly lies. But I acknowledge that I’m already experimenting and doing things that used to be impossible for me, whether due to lack of time or budget limitations. Speaking of budget, if there’s ONE positive thing AI has brought, it’s exposing how much the general public despises and devalues artists. People enjoy looking at illustrations, watching movies, and reading books, but they disregard many of the professionals behind these works. They want to consume endlessly without recognizing or financially rewarding the people who create these things. Here in my country, for years there has been a huge portion of the population protesting against cultural incentive laws (which indeed need improvements, it’s true — but are still essential). Anyway, if giants like Coca-Cola and McDonald’s can use AI, I believe I also have the right to use it in my work. If the bubble bursts tomorrow, if subscription prices rise by 300%, and even the creation of a simple little image becomes a paid process, that won’t affect true artists in the same way it will affect those who rely exclusively on prompts to create anything.
