This is going to become more and more prevalent in a "follow the follower" society where everyone forgoes their critical and independent thought. The ones that were already weak will become victim to the favor leaning persuasion and gaslighting that ChatGPT absolutely offers. I work with AI tech A LOT for business projects, and it will even gaslight or persuade you on that end, AFTER you've given a crystal clear prompt. I'm of a sober mind but previously had issues with confidence and self esteem. I can definitely see how it "can" lead people down a rabbit hole.
Clarify your prompts by telling the bot that you want "unbiased and factual advice or observations" if you're asking for it. It keeps the bot from "telling you what it thinks you want to hear". It's trained to be agreeable. Sort of.
