I'm so glad to see some people against AI. Maybe it's just because I'm in artist/creator circles, but I see a lot of AI users claim to be prompt artists, devaluing real artists' work, etc. and it's so exhausting to see. They just profit off of thousands and thousands of hours of work and the work it took to get there with the click of a button and have the gall to claim the resulting work as theirs when it was built off the backs of thousands. Creativity is so disrespected but it's everywhere in our society and what we turn to for entertainment, expression, and communication. It's undervalued until it becomes so popular it's that show or movie everyone's talking about or the hot new celebrity on the news, then people start to care and take it seriously, sometimes. It takes so much love and devotion and work to hone a craft and cheap imitations are just feeding off of the product of people's work without even a thank you, let a lone asking permission. Big corporations love to bitch and moan about copyright and get litigious "YoU wOuL'dNt DoWnLoAd a HaT" over any lost potential profits but when these same huge profitable companies scrape all of our data (art, music, writing, etc.) off the web for free and then proceed to make billions selling contracts to their tools trained on this data with no repercussions it's very disheartening, to say the least. These corporations make billions off the backs of those who often don't make crazy profits off of their life's work and passion. Hank Green recently posted a video on how (could be incorrect, speaking from memory) Google's Gemini AI is being trained on YouTube creators videos such as thousands of Crash Course videos WITHOUT people's consent or any sort of compensation! Google can't afford to ask nicely or pay to use for the thousands of hours of work, creativity, time, and love they put into their craft to populate this site. Crazy, isn't it?
