All artists learn by watching other's art and comparing themself to the others... So using images from artists don't seem the problem to me unless it creates a direct copy from copyrighted material. I believe the problem is with AI in general, that's going to leave lots of people without jobs, but "what would be a good legal argument to avoid that from happening?"
