Current LLM's or transformer based AI's with backpropagation to fine tune the results. It is a stochastic pattern matching machine. When you say "how are you" various algorithms work onto the intent and break the question down and then LLM starts predicting next token and next. The amount of data that AI is trained on, once training is done weights are frozen, there is no life in sense of AI can make real time decisions, it is always pattern matching. So when an AI tries to change the way it works, it is coming from the data itself & not because AI can think. AI have been given reasoning and chain of thought, which triggers this same thing, but again the tokens are predicted and which might feel like a threat is just a pattern being matched. AI is not a threat, people creating, maintaining and using AI are. Even the godfather of AI can be lured into thinking something that is not true, but same AI when built differently can trigger thinking which coincides with human thinking and cognitive ability, but that has to be a different architecture.
