This was a frustrating video. I was really expecting some numbers. How would a UBI be funded? If rich people all own financial assets, what are those assets based on and how stable is that value? BS like Crypto is a Ponzi scheme that only gains value as more people pile in. Stocks don’t work like that… but looking at Tesla’s valuation, it’s clear that they can. If we only make stuff for rich people, what are the consumption habits of the ultra wealthy? Can they sustain industries alone? What would all this do to currency valuations? Does an economy that is all stocks and AI produce a GDP that matches a one that employs humans? And what is stopping all the poor people from building a parallel economy to get their needs met? Like, a black market, as the actual market.
