The problem is that in most cases of AI use today the AI is not being used as a power tool, it is being used to generate crappy code, soulless music and boring images. 99% of of use cases are producing garbage and the web is being flooded with it, whereas this particular use of it looks legitimately interesting. The technology is incredible, the problem is that it is being produced by evil people and mostly being used by those who have no ability to discern what is valuable about good art.
