I couldn't help but think an autonomous truck protest should just have a machine out there waving signs.
I got to agree with you on this one mark, I don't see the autonomous truck usage being significant for many many years. I can see where they might move trailers by platooning them along certain Highway corridors. There's a lot more to driving a truck than simply putting the truck in gear and getting from point A to point B. Many of the places you have to load and unload challenge a good human driver to get the truck back in oh, I just don't see an automated truck being able to do it until there's huge advances. Also you would have to automate many steps along the way. Trucking jobs like mine out in the oilfield, there is no way to automate that, short of having a human-like Droid actually drive the truck and do the work around the truck. We get to that point I'm going to pick up my light saber and go do other work anyhow.
