To be an artist could be someone’s fate that can’t be escaped. Some ppl just don’t understand it. Some comments said...“It simply means art is going to be moved back to the hobby. To pay the bills I have my terrible soul-sucking corporate job I hate, but oh well.” That’s so wrong. Please make a voice to support real artist! To me, as a professional illustrator and graphic designer with few years of experience, now unemplyeed in art industry, but used to get quit high payments from the illustration clients (holding an art degree from Sheridan College in Canada), but never regret or think to give up. Give up art creativity = give up life. I’ve been painting since I knew how to hold a pen. I draw and earn from it ( both digital and traditional ways) because I have my own way of doing/creating it and ppl like me and my work. This is not a hobby — this is what I do. At this moment, Even if I earn less, or earn nothing, that doesn’t mean art goes “back to being a hobby.” It never was. (Nothing to do with AI in here.) Maybe AI bro just don't understand what is serious art mean. There is a book called The Art Spirit written by Robert Henri. It shows how real artists are supposed to think about painting. Serious artists think things differently( every single little things, no joke). Artists can’t separate their own art life. JUST CAN'T. Can't escape their art mind. This is called fate. So we as serious artists ought to treat art as a serious job (can do multiple jobs to earn more and feed ourselves) so to feel better physically and mentally.
