As a teacher and a parent, I say a major contribution will involve greatly expanding the number of teachers and support admin relative to the number of students in our classrooms.
Research has consistently and frequently shown that the most effective class sizes are 14-18 students (the flagship research coming via Tennessee STAR Report from the 1980s; academic research on the topic of class sizes is so readily available, I'll assert the claim as basic info). Typical class sizes, however, are still 25+ in the US and still exceed 40+ in other "developed" nations that otherwise can be described as being more socially progressive.
In addition, learners perform even better in social development with Student-Teacher ratios even lower than above. In other words, 2 (or more!) competent teachers per class of 14-18 is even better yet.
Teaching and other careers in education are often considered an "AI-proof/ -resistant" paths since so much of the value they bring is not in their knowledge (not say that is unimportant) but more in the social skills they can bring -- the skills AGI will almost certainly never be able to replace.
So why is this not even considered? Education is a human right. Guarantee it already.
