In that example the AI didn't do your work for you instead it gave you enough inspiration and guidance to do your own research to make an otherwise boring and tired assignment that you have been forced to do repeatedly in your earlier schooling interesting. It can also give you lists of websites that are legitimate sources to use that while the list is imperfect, you can expect to find a small number of gems among the list after you have manually "sperared the wheat from the chaff" so to speak so maybe 50% to 80% of the sources are garbage and 15% are obvious that 5% of interesting and actually useful sources could be the thing that sparks a passion or guides you to the point that makes a middling paper an A+ candidate.
