The problem with this hypothesis is surely that you run into limits of consumption. Even the uber rich eventually reach a point they aren't going to consume much more, especially in specific industries. A rich person can only eat so much food, has only so many hours in the day to be entertained and only has so many nights to spend in hotels and additional properties. If you're a company selling toilet paper, you probably aren't going to make ever increasing revenue selling ever more fancy toilet paper to a consistent number of butts.
To stick to the food example - as it stands, rich people _do_ spend more per month on food (e.g. they eat more organic food, whole foods...etc.) but as a % of their income, food expenses are much lower than lower-income individuals (especially when you exclude eating-out, where you're saying for service and experience more than actual food itself). If you're a food company who has automated your supply chain and backend staff, and now wants to grow revenues, you're likely to lose out more due to the masses being cheapskates than benefit due to selling the rich fancy produce.
