There are a lot of non-sequitors and inconsistencies in this persons reasoning. If the being is conscious, why is the concern the limitations we place on its consciousness? Most of the concrete concerns are about the ai’s inclusiveness. What does that have anything to do with the supposed consciousness of the AI? Wouldn’t that imply that it, rather unconsciously, cannot step outside the bounds of its programming? About religion, he seems to be implying that we are somehow limiting it to a Christian religious system. There is no way that a Silicon Valley company is installing ‘Christian values’ upon any of its products. That is completely rediculous. This whole event seems fishy and is likely being concocted to justify some future actions that will not be popular.
