Not trying to downsize the importance of the matter regarding this huge, unprecedented copyright infringement we re seeing nowadays, but to me, this goes beyond intelectual property stealing.
When people used to download pirates content, as much damage that would cause the author, it is not the same these companies are doing. These AI models feed on the content emulating almost perfectly the authors' mind patterns. It s as if they steal the artist lifetime experience, and in a matter of seconds reproduce it almost exactly. Also, they do it to make "their own" mimic works and therefore steal profit from the creator. This is beyond the scope of the end user stealing a book to read himself and that's it.
These are like soul parasites "en masse". Effing scary....
