While certain pieces of AI law like DoNotPay might be good (IDK) the fact that there are various interpretations of the law, which is written unchanging text, mean that for an AI to become a lawyer, would we need a general intelligence? Even a general intelligence doesnt have to understand everything, I mean dogs mosquitoes might be a general intelligence but they're not capable lawyers. DoNotPay specifically expands the practise of law instead of just stealing real people's work since before it I doubt the vast majority of people sued spamcallers. And I doubt its a high stakes case. But with public defenders free, at the very least people even if they do use AI, will take the lawyer, and the lawyer can use the AI to help it research and verify EVERYTHING it says himself.
