This is a brilliant video, and I love the way it’s animated and put together—it really draws you in. However, there’s a fundamental flaw in the narrative that I think needs addressing. During the Industrial Revolution, while machines replaced a lot of physical labour, humans weren’t rendered obsolete. We simply shifted to other physical tasks and adapted.
The same principle applies here. If artificial intelligence manages to replace 95 to 99 percent of tasks currently done by humans, I don’t believe this will lead to humanity becoming obsolete or stupid. One of the most remarkable traits of humanity—and life in general—is our inquisitiveness. Like chimps or other animals, we have an innate drive to explore, learn, and understand.
Taking away work and certain tasks won’t suppress this. In fact, I believe it will push us to progress in new ways. With AI providing an endless stream of fact-checked and reliable data, humanity will have the tools to dive deeper into the understanding of the universe, our world, and even our spiritual connections. Far from being the end, this could mark a new beginning for humanity’s mental and philosophical evolution.
