I totally disagree. Examples of AI usage you mentioned are cherry-picked to be only the bad examples. Any new powerful technology will have both good and bad ways to use it. Of course I agree that in an ART community it's better to draw things by hand because it's the process and the skill that matters, not only the final result (which also can be worse with AI). And you can still do that, AI does not prevent you from drawing and discussing your ART in any way. But for some people they just need the final result, just the image. If they have to draw it, or buy it from an artist, that would be waste of time and/or money for them. I don't see any drawbacks of using AI in this case. Also speaking of making things faster and easier, you are wrong. It's not like everything is gonna become automated so the only thing left for you to do is to consume. Instead you gotta move on to new things. That's just how progress works. Some things that were done by hand in the past get automated so that you can move on to doing other things. Or you can still do it by hand and the result may even be valued more. For example when sewing machine was invented, some people got mad they are gonna loose their jobs. Though now it's totally ok. Some clothes are stitched 100% automatically and we just use them for practical purposes. Other people who view stitching and sewing as an ART can totally do that by hand and the result is called hand-made and valued more than mass production. I think that AI image generators should be perceived the same way.
