tbh I strongly disagree with the whole shitting on Pollock and "modern art" thing. Even though it was a psyop by the american government, it is still says something about us as humans, it shows how politics turned art into a weapon. Same with other controversial works of art like "city" or even Manzoni's artist's shit, it has an intention behind it. People can argue, well, the banana on a wall also has it, and yes, it could be, we could get angry because it rewards select, "elite" artists over some other less fortunate ones, but the issue there is not art, is the market that has grown around art, it's the culture industry, it's the fact even with something as deeply personal and raw as art, people still found ways to monetize it, to turn it into numbers, and all of this comes back to the issue about generative AI.
