Geoffrey Hinton is a materialist all over and if he ignores spirituality and human divinity which cannot be immitated by any computers he is missing a vital part of being a human. AI and humans cannot really be compared to eachother. AI simply is a collection of many humans thoughts and knowledge embedded in some clever algorithms, while ommitting vital other features. I do not believe that we are victims to what AI decides to do with us. We are the ones who can function without electricity, not AI though. So it's about pulling the plug, before we get ourselves killed by our own creation.
